Rabbi Tzemach Yehoshua Cunin, a Chabad Shliach in Los Angeles, California, passed away on Friday, 2 Tammuz, 5779.He was 43 and passed away suddenly Thursday night.
The son of the West Coast Head Shliach Rabbi Boruch Shlomo Cunin, he grew up on Shlichus dedicating his life to the mission of the Rebbe to spread Torah and Chassidus in the world.
Upon his marriage, he established Chabad of Century City, a neighborhood in Los Angeles, and has been active there to engage with Jewish residents and visitors.
His most recent activity was helping to co-host “An Evening With the Rebbe,” a grand tribute commemorating the 25th yartzeit of the Rebbe in honor of Gimmel Tammuz at the Beverly Hills Hotel on Sunset Blvd.
He is survived by his wife, Ada (nee Wilschanski) and 5 children. He is also survived by his parents Rabbi Shlomo and Miriam Cunin, Head Shluchim of California and the West Coast; his parents-in-law Rabbi Zalmanand Esti Wilschansky – Morristown, NJ; and siblings.
The levaya will take place Sunday, 4 Tammuz, 3:00 PM from him home 1145 S. Wetherly Drive, Los Angeles, CA 90035, passing by The Bais Chaya Mushka school to Mount Olive Cemetery – 7231 Slauson Avenue, Commerce, CA 90040.
A fund has been launched by Chabad of Los Angeles to help his family.
